The set of film is too dark and there are a old house with a garden. It always appear dark and with foogy. Film shows the atmosphere are cold because we can see the breath. Other thing that we can listen is the voices that are screamers voices or whispers.

3) The Time---When is the film set? How does the director tell/show the audience?

The film set in the second World War because the husband of Grace is on the war.

Grace: feel bad because she doesn't kwon what happens in their house and also because she made left his husband who are in the second war.
She educate her children with too much strictness.
She's made because she killed her children.

The children, Anne and Nicolas: They cannot be touched by direct sunlight without being hurt in some way.
In the house there are a lot of courtains because they don’t see the sunlight.

Mrs Mills, Mr Tutle and Lydia, the housekeepers: They are the servants of this family and they know that they also are a ghost and throughout the movie they intent to said to the family.

Alejandro Amenábar, the director: When he directed this film he only was 29 and I think that he made this film very original and ingenious, because you don't understand until in end of the film.

The film begins with their arrival. Do you know any other films by this director?
What’s their role in the story? How old was he when he directed this film?
Has the film won any prizes?

He also directed mar adentro but I don't have seen it.

5. FINAL QUESTION

Can the Others be considered a representative of Gothic fiction? Defend your opinion.

I think that the Others isn’t a Gothic fiction because the Gothic fiction is an important genre of literature that combines elements of both horror and romance. In one hand it's true that appear one romantic scene about their children but there are a lot of chatolic scene because Anne and Nicolas always are studing or reading the bible.
